Best Beach on Spider Lake
The best view and waterfront lot on the Peninsula - Acreage, views, private frontage
Spider Lake is a public, 450-acre “all-sports” lake located in Lower Michigan about ten minutes southeast of Traverse City. The lake is considered one of the better fishing lakes and has plenty of bass, bluegill, perch, pike and crappie. There is a nice boat launch and dock located in one of the coves. Speed is enforced before 11:00 AM and after 7:30 PM, with restrictions on water sports at those times. Otherwise, it is an excellent lake for skiing, tubing or just cruising around and exploring the coves and islands.
The lake features numerous coves and inlets and is heavily wooded. There is a public island and sand bar that features excellent swimming or you can just hang out and enjoy the day with your neighbors.
The lake is large enough for jet skiing, tubing and water skiing, but has a quiet time for relaxing evenings and mornings. Spider Lake has a nice public boat launch located off of E. Arbutus Lake Road.
